Sunset Over The Gulf

The day before Thanksgiving we took Rick's parents to Gulf Shores to see the beach and then to eat at Lambert's (Home of the throwed rolls) on the way back. The sun sets around here about 4:30 in the after noon (it is pitch black by 5:00) and we made it to the beach just in time to catch God's handy-work. I wish you could have been here too.

I hope these pictures slow your heart rate, lower your blood pressure, make the corners of your mouth turn up, and inspire you to sing or pray, or both. I wish I knew how to make one of those YouTube videos. I'd make one with "How Great Thou Art" playing in the background! But since I'm not of the know-how, you'll just have to imagine it for yourself!

I took a few more pictures. You can see them in a slide show by clicking here. [Actually you'll see a slide show of ALL the photos I have on Flickr, but you don't have to sit and watch the whole thing. You know that, right? ;)]

Now I need to head to the gym--and it is pouring rain again. My umbrella is in the car, so maybe I'll put a Wal-Mart bag on my head and walk fast. Picture that in your mind and laugh the rest of the day!

Thank you for suggesting the song with the pictures. That would be an awesome video. These are just wonderful pictures. I thought it got dark here early. I guess that means that you can get to bed early. Ha, not if it is like at my house. I know that I sure do want to when it gets dark as early as it does here at this time of the year. Thank you so much for sharing the pictures. Don't get to wet in the rain. I wish we had some of it here. We are so dry. Gotta go and feed the kids before they all think I am starving them. Have a great weekend.

these pictures are really nice. We spent Thanksgiving Day on the beach too, but not at sunset. These look like postcards! :)

I just loved the photo with the birds flying through it. I just love the different colors in the sky at sunset. Thanks for sharing

The one with the birds is my favorite, too. They are all awesome. God does such good work. Nothing is as aweinspiring as a sunset.

Gorgeous photos. I love taking pictures and just today I took some of a river near my home at a little town called Klondike, IA. Anyway, it was in the 20s and snowy, but beautiful and sunny. I plan to post some of them on my "Choose Joy" tomorrow. Carol

I'm glad y'all like my photos. Pictures really are worth a thousand words, and the cool thing is, when two people look at the same picture, it is then worth two thousand words! So far at least 6 people have looked at my pictues, so this post is worth...WOW...six thousand words! (Wish I could get paid for that! LOL)
I like the birds too. I think my second favorite picture I failed to post here, but that gives you a chance to go find it on Flickr. I've got some nice flower pictures there too if you like flowers! Enjoy.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I love the sunset pictures. I took some similar ones of a sunrise in Florida last year. I go to the gym too but at 5 am. I hope your workout was as good as mine.
