Still more remodeling

I'm still working on my blog new do. I've added a few more links to blogs I read--see that post under the POI link on my navigation bar.

Do you see that Group Tour link? That's where you are going to find any memes I take part in. What's a meme? I know some of you are VERY familiar with memes and others are wondering...

A meme is one of those things that "everybody" is doing. You know, one blogger writes about something or starts some project and other blog writers snatch the idea and do the same thing. I've never been one to follow the crowed, (though I did own a mood ring a long time ago) but sometimes, doing things with a group can be fun. There is one meme out there that is very popular, Project 365. It is so popular in fact that when I Googled it, I found it impossible to figure out where it originated.

The idea of Project 365 is to take and post a photo for every day of the year. A photo journal is the end result. My oldest daughter did it for a while and it looked like fun. So, I thought I'd give it a try.

You would think that the best time of year to start a project like this would be January, 1. Yeah, well, it took me a while to decided I really wanted to participate in this meme. So the next best time to start my picture-a-day hobby would be on the first of any given month, or at least on the first day of any week. Nope! I didn't do that either. Don't you know it is weirder more dashing and bold to plunge into the mainstream of blogging memes when the mood strikes? Yeah, that's me!

And to continue in my style of never following the crowd exactly, I didn't post my first few pictures daily. I'm posting them in a little bunch. From here on out, my desire it to post a photo a day, but I'm not making any promises. In little bunches may become my MO.

Either way, I hope you enjoy my photo journal, and if you want to join in, or if you already have a 365 project going, let's link up and have a snap-happy good time! But for now, here are pictures for days 1-5.

Friday we had rain, lots of rain. I'm not complaining. Rain here is always good. But look at our driveway. We really need to have something hauled in here to keep the mud under control. *sigh* But that something comes with a big price tag, so we slop around in the mud and are thankful for the rain.
Saturday we combined a bunch of our junk with my in-laws' discards and had a garage sale in Dumas. I appreciate their garage--we don't have one. We made a little cash (not enough to fix the driveway) but the best part was getting rid of stuff we no longer have use for. You'd be surprised what people will buy when it costs only a quarter.
Sunday after church we took advantage of the pretty weather and some of our garage sale cash. Marigolds are cheap and cheery. I love the birdbath. I hope the little birds will love it to.
Okay, so Sunday deserve two pictures. Or, maybe I couldn't make up my mind which one to post. This dahlia is in a pot and will travel with me when we are deployed and get to go back to work.
Monday I took care of several domestic issues. Laundry, laundry, and more laundry. Now someone tell me what is dashing and bold about that! I'm glad the machine did most of the work so I had time to take pictures!
Today has been, well, a lazy day. Cold, clouds, dampness, wind, and then finally a little sun. I've spent the whole day with computer activities. Sally took a good long nap. What a life!

I wonder what tomorrow holds?

so glad you are trying project 365. I miss a day here and there but at the end of last year, I put it all in a book and was shocked at how many things I would have forgotten about! You saw my 365 post, but I also post the whole week on my other blog on Sundays and I have about 25+ people that link in with me. We'd love for you to join us!

So happy to meet a new blogging friend! Edie did a great job on your blog....she is so talented!!

I was just going to tell you that you should join Sara's P365 meme.
http://thebowyers.blogspot.com/

It's the one I participate in, and I even had the pleasure of designing the button. :)

I've missed a few months now but I plan to get back to it. It really is fun. I like that you save up a weeks worth of pictures and post them on Sunday. Well, I would prefer to post on Saturday but Sara says Sunday and I'm not one to argue (much) so I fell in line. :) Also, she doesn't mind when you don't follow the crowd (exactly) and always let you back in line if you fall out for a while.

I love your pictures. Could that something for the driveway be... oh... say... cement?

The dahlias are beautiful! I'm not very good with potted plants. I love the garden too. I'm sure the birds will be thrilled.

Laundry, you can do mine too if you want. Really, I don't mind.

Sally is adorable! Does she travel with you?

Thanks Sara, now all I have to do is figure out how to do the linking thing. I don't understand link backs and all that stuff. I will put your button on my blog though. I know how to do that!

Edie, concrete would be nice but we live on 1.5 acres and have a long drive so we were thinking more along the lines of crushed asphalt. Either way, it's not in the budget.
It has been too cold and rainy for the birds to want a bath. lol
That's okay about your laundry...I'd hate to rob you of the joy of doing your own. ;)
And no, Sally doesn't travel with us. A big dog + an RV + me =, more dashing and bold than I want, thank you very much! lol

Looking good, Lavonda...really like the changes...

Memes are fun and a good way to get to know other bloggers with similar interests...I'd rather look at great photos than actually take some, so the 365 meme is not really for me...

Marigolds are my oldest granddaughter's favorite flower...she has been singing the inchworm song since she was a year old so she expects marigolds every summer....

Oh...to be a dog some days...or a cat...

Hey Karen, thanks for stopping by. Yeah I've often thought that dogs and cats have it pretty good. lol

I used to plant marigolds in my vegetable garden to keep the wasps away. I love them because they are low maintenance and don't need a lot of water...that's a plus in our part of the country.

I think I need one of your Dahlias. They are so pretty!

I like the picture of Sally too. How did you get so close without her waking up? She must have been sleeping hard!

You are making me want to get back to my Project 365.

Hi Kaleena,
Aww, your comments make me happy. Or is it you that makes me happy. Yeah, that's it! ;)
I splurged on the dahlia. I just hope I can keep it alive! It may have to winter at your house.
Yeah I was shocked that Sally didn't wake up when I opened the door to go out and snap her. I tiptoed around to get a good angle and then zoomed in. She lifted her head when I went back inside the camper but then rolled over and went back to sleep. Guess she was a very tired dog!
I'm ready for you to do the 365 again too. I wish ALL my children would do it so I could experience "a day in the life of..." so to speak. Mom's are just weird like that. ;)

Aw, poor Sally. :)

I love your re-model!

If I could just get my girls to all post a picture now and then on FB, I would be thrilled. One did start a 365 project, but she's just too busy. She does digi-scrapping and that's so fun and creative for her. I enjoy her creations, also.

Sally is just too bold and dashing. LOL
